Suzuki, together with Suzuki's historic motorsport division team, Team Classic Suzuki, is ready to produce the Suzuki GSX-R1000 Katana model based on the 2008 World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK) engine.

Despite being inactive for more than a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK-based team remains determined to make this special project a success.

Based on the Alstare GSX-R1000 (2008) racing engine, this power train was updated by Nathan Combi of Team Classic Suzuki, which is now capable of producing almost 200hp.

Cylinder heads from Alstare engines and matching Race fit exhausts. The cooling system uses a factory-made radiator and oil cooler with aluminum oil and water pipes. The electronic system uses the Yoshimura EM Pro electronic control unit (ECU).

The front has the same headlamp design as the Katana but now uses LED headlights mounted in a carbon fiber housing.

Suzuki Katana 2021 use New Racing Seat Saddle with the Katana logo. The traditional red Suzuki logo is also affixed to the fuel tank.

The WSBK Alstare engine frame is still maintained with the same dimensions as the production version of the GSX-R1000 K8. The swingarm and subframe are customized from Alpha Performance Fabrication, designed to help support the dual dampers used on the original Katana.

Suzuki Katana 2021 is using the Hlins suspension, which is an inverted fork (USD) at the front and a twin absorber with a sub-tank at the rear.

Three-bar Dymag CH3 wheels are used to maintain the classic look and are paired with Brembo disc brakes and calipers.
